Boosted Stealth and Plus Overview
We are back with another Boosted Boards review and comparison. This California based company has been on top of their game for the last 6 years constantly improving their electric skateboards and listening to customers needs.
At the time of writing, they have their third generation electric skateboards on the market and all 4 of them are worth being in our best electric skateboards list. We have already compared the Boosted Mini S and Boosted Mini X, which in our opinion, are currently by far the best electric shortboards for the last mile commuting, so now we will look at Boosted Stealth and Boosted Plus longboards.
The Boosted 3rd generation longboards have been redesigned for enhanced performance, consumer comfort, and board durability. These longboards are at a much higher price tag than the shortboards but we think they’re worth it. The ride is so comfortable, enjoyable, and at the same time gives you that rush of adrenaline.

Speed, Power & Distance
Speed, Power & Distance
Boosted Stealth and Boosted Plus have the same dual brushless motor belt drive system that produces 2100 Watt power. The same as with Boosted Mini boards, all specs of the motor are the same on Stealth and Plus. The Boosted Stealth performs better with more acceleration and speed so we again feel that the Stealth software is tweaked for higher performance.
How fast does it go?
The Boosted Stealth model max speed is 38.5 km/h (24 m/h) and Boosted Plus max speed is a little lower at 35.5 (22 m/h).
We had trouble reaching mentioned maximum speeds for both longboards getting 1-2 km/h (1 m/h) short most of the time.
However, while the speed difference in Boosted Mini X vs Mini S was barely noticeable, we found the Boosted Stealth feels much faster than the Boosted Plus. Maybe that is because of better acceleration, but you can feel it straight away and to us, this part alone makes it worth to get Boosted Stealth over the Plus version.
Do they have more than one speed setting?
Boosted Plus has 4 speed modes:
- Beginner – top speed of 17.7 km/h (11 m/h) limited acceleration, weak hill climb
- Eco – top speed of 25.7 km/h (16 m/h) weak acceleration, small hill climb
- Expert – top speed of 32 km/h (20 m/h) high acceleration, 20% hill climb
- Pro – Max speed, extreme acceleration, 25% hill climb
And the Boosted Stealth has an additional 5th speed mode:
- Hyper – max speed, max acceleration, 25% hill climb
As we mentioned Stealth is faster and has better acceleration so that 5th mode makes an enormous difference.
What age/weight is it suitable for?
While Boosted Boards support page does not seem to be updated for third generation longboards we can only assume that the Boosted Stealth and Plus longboards will have same max rider weight at 113 kg (250 lbs), but you should check with the manufacturer to clarify this.
There is no specified age limit for these longboards. If you are buying one for your child be sure to supervise them properly. These longboards are very fast with quick acceleration and brakes, especially with top speed modes.
What is the range/distance?
Having the extended battery packs on both Stealth and Plus models these longboards will take you up to 22.5 km (14 miles). We don’t think the range is really that impressive for an electric longboard, we would like to see Boosted Boards redesigning/making their batteries bigger in future skateboard generations to be able to reach distances like Bamboo series electric skateboards.
Can they be used off-road?
Smooth, wide, but short wheels are designed for streets and pavements only, so you won’t be able to go offroading. You might ride through short grass on tough earth but the ride will be bumpy and unstable. You’d also be more likely to slide on the dirt when taking turns and put yourself in dangerous situations, so we recommend sticking to concrete surfaces.

Boosted Stealth and Boosted Plus have the same Lithium-Ion batteries. For some reason, Boosted Boards don’t really reveal the specifications of their batteries.
All Boosted Boards skateboards have regenerative braking that will turn on when you start braking slowly. It will help you to conserve battery power and add a little more range to your journey.
How long does it take to charge?
Extended range batteries on both models will charge 0-100% in 1h 45min.
Battery protection & safety
The Boosted Boards Lithium-Ion extended range batteries have Battery Management System (BMS) in the hardware and software to protect from:
- Overvoltage
- Undervoltage
- Overtemperature
- Overcurrent
- Short circuit
How long will the battery last for?
Having the extended range battery on the 3rd gen longboards should give a longer life to the battery since you will need to charge it less than the regular Boosted Boards battery. Lithium-Ion batteries lifespan is usually around 1000 charge cycles.

Design and Ergonomics
Boosted Boards made big improvements to the 3rd gen longboards. The Stealth and Plus e-boards have redesigned wider wheels for better grip when accelerating or braking, the deck is wider for more foot space and does not cave in on the sides for easier foot placement.
Boosted Stealth and Plus measure same dimensions of 96.5 x 28.7 x 14.5 cm (38 x 11.3 x 5.7 inches).
In terms of looks, both longboards look similar, the Stealth board is all black with grey wheels, while the Plus has orange wheels (which we love!) and light wood-like looking bottom.
What material are they made from?
The decks are made from composite material that has poplar, high-density foam, and fiberglass. Together they make a light and flexible deck that should be comfortable to ride even on long distances.
Remote
The remote is quite intuitive and has jerk filter built in, which lets you accelerate and break easier.
Having a quite high-end electric skateboard we would have liked to see an LCD screen on the remote to view speed, mileage, battery state etc. Nonetheless, the remote is really responsive so on highest modes (4th on Plus and 5th on Stealth) you need to be really careful with acceleration and braking because abrupt squeezes might throw you off the board.
Do they connect to your smartphone via app or Bluetooth?
Yes, you can connect your iOS or Android smartphone to the Boosted app in which you will be able to map your tracks, keep track of mileage, check battery state, and also install latest updates for your longboard.
One interesting thing we found is that when you use smartphone app you can’t see current speed, but if you have a smartwatch and install the app on it, you will be able to see live speed.
Build quality and ease of use
Having been just redesigned, Boosted Boards 3rd generation longboards are made to last long rides for years and feel like a high-quality product.
Redesigned trucks, wheels, and flexible decks give a smooth and comfortable ride. Cruising, carving, or just commuting long distances is a blast with these fast longboards.
The only drawback when commuting with these electric longboards is that they are still quite heavy due to the battery. Boosted Stealth and Plus weight 7.7 kg (17lbs) each. This is still lighter than most electric scooters we’ve reviewed, so if you’re looking to commute, its still a lightweight option.
Safety & Usability on the road
Safety and usability on the road
Both boards are very fun and comfortable to use on smooth roads, paths, or walkways but will give you trouble on rocky or split pavement like any other board with small skateboard wheels.
Having such powerful and fast electric longboards it is important to be safe and wear a helmet and protective padding, believe us it is very easy to be thrown off of these board, especially for inexperienced riders.
Boosted boards give some nice tips for beginners on how to not get thrown off the board:
- Keep a wide stance on the board
- Keep a low center of gravity
- Move the throttle wheel in small increments
- Lean forward when accelerating
- Lean backward when braking
Additionally, we want to remind riders to be safe during the night, these boards do not have any lights or reflectors so you will be invisible if you won’t wear any additional lighting.
Are Boosted Stealth and Plus skateboards waterproof?
Both Boosted longboards are not waterproof so it is important to keep them off water sources like rain or puddles. Having no IP waterproof rating might not be abig of a deal for longboarders since they are not really to be used on wet surfaces because of the threat of slipping, but still it made us nervous riding past puddles.
Manoeuvrability
The Boosted boards are surprisingly manoeuvrable and we found them to make better turns than the 2nd gen boards. Of course, you won’t be making 90 degree turns as you would with Boosted Mini series shortboards, but turning in streets or passing pedestrians and cyclists will be a breeze. Having wide trucks, great wheels along with a flexible deck make these boards stable even at high speeds.
Restrictions and availability
Boosted Stealth and Plus can be obtained quite easily for most of the world. The company has 200+ retailer partners in North America and a dozen in Europe, Australia, and New Zealand.
If you are not sure if your country or state allows these electric skateboards on the road be sure to check local laws and be up to date with the legislation to avoid unnecessary trouble with the law.
