Welcome to our WowGo 3 electric longboard review for 2023. Before we get stuck into this review, a quick overview regarding the specs, stats & features included in this electric longboard. Whilst remaining a relatively unknown brand, we were pleasantly surprised at the decent performance; especially when considering the price tag. Cheap electric longboards can often prove unreliable, however this model certainly met & exceeded our expectations.
This board further features a rear LED light, which already puts it above many competitors in terms of safety & style. The deck is fashioned from lightweight yet remarkably robust bamboo & fibreglass, which we discuss more of later. How fast does it go?
The overall maximum speed this model can reach is 24 mp/h (39 km/h). However, riders can select from 4 speed modes, each offering varying levels of acceleration, speed & power;
- Slow mode: 0-12miles/h(0-20km/h)
- Normal mode: 0-18miles/h(0-30km/h)
- Fast mode: 0-24miles/h(0-39km/h)
- Turbo mode: 0-24miles/h(0-39km/h)
Lastly, please note that variables such as rider weight, terrain, incline, weather, etc. can impact overall performance. These figures come from controlled testing on a clear day on a flat surface.
What age/weight is it suitable for?
Whilst we see no official recommended age, its clear this electric long board is designed for those aged 16+. We believe this the case primarily due to the high speed & power offered. In terms of recommended weight, WowGo state that this board best performs with riders under 120 kg, however will still support up to 280 lbs (150 kg); just over 16 times its own weight!
What is the range/distance?
Whilst the WowGo 3 electric skateboard offers a range of 12-14miles (19-22.5 km), riders can select an upgraded 8.0Ah battery, bringing their range up to an average of 17-20 miles (27-32 km). Although this costs a little extra, we believe the additional miles remain well worth it; although this bigger battery does require an extra hour of charge time.
Can it be used offroad?
Unfortunately, this electric long board lacks off-road functionality. Whilst you should have no problems passing briefly through short grass and dry dirt, try to avoid tricky terrains. Although offering great grip and performance on the road, these wheels clearly are intended for smooth surfaces. Whilst these wheels could potentially pass through patches of short grass and dry dirt, we recommend avoiding any tricky terrains.
Does it lose power uphill?
Hardly – We’re not sure how, but this board is brilliant at humiliating hills with ease. Riders can effortlessly tackle inclines of up to 25-30 degrees, making this one of the best electric skateboards for climbing hills we’ve reviewed to date. This is likely in thanks to the dual rear hub motors, which appear to offer tremendous torque power.

Bringing our 2023 WowGo 3 electric longboard review onto battery life & charging. As previously mentioned, riders have the option between two variants of this model; one with a 6Ah battery & a bigger 8Ah battery. This 8Ah battery increases the charge time by about 1 hour from empty, whilst also extending total range by approx. ~6 miles. However, both options are sourced from Samsung, industry leading suppliers & innovators. This should give riders some peace of mind, knowing that their ride is powered by some of the best in the business. As a Samsung 40T, this battery is composed of Lithium-ion cells, helping create highly efficient & longer lasting batteries. How long does it take to charge?
To our surprise, both variants of this model offered some rapid charge times. You don’t typically see such short charging times on models that offer decent 12+ mile ranges, however the WowGo 3 was quick to impress.
6.0Ah battery: 2-3 hours
8.0Ah battery: 3-4 hours
How long will the battery last for?
As a high quality Lithium-ion battery sourced from leading suppliers, riders should expect somewhere between 500-1000 charge cycles before expecting any issues. Due to their supplier being Samsung, its likely the latter of this figure. For some perspective, it would still take 2-3+ years to reach this point, even when riding & charging daily. Alongside this, WowGo include a 180 day warranty on all official purchases, keeping you covered should any faults arise throughout this time.

Briefly touching on the design & ergonomics section of our 2023 WowGo 3 eBoard review; whilst cost-effective, this cheap electric longboard appears to make no compromise on quality. Boasting a bamboo/fibreglass deck, this model manages a super lightweight of just 17.2 lbs (7.8 kg). However, its also remarkably robust, supporting weights of up to 280 lbs (150 kg), just over 16 times its own weight. This easily makes it one of the strongest electric skateboards we’ve reviewed, pound for pound. Briefly expanding on this, the deck is also spacious & wide enough to easily manoeuvre on comfortably.
The Samsung Li-ion battery is clearly of high quality, with WowGo showing no signs of skimping out. Honestly, many similarly performing competitors are often almost twice the price of this board. Structural suspension is another cool addition, whilst subtle it still offers a much smoother ride than its counterparts. The controller is ergonomic and comfortable to grip for extended periods of time, alongside containing everything you need for breaking, accelerating, reversing and more.

What brakes does the WowGo 3 have?
Unspecified – However, we believe this model to utilise electronic braking, with riders able to slow down via the handheld controller.
Is it foldable?

Does it connect to your smartphone?
No – However, it does feature a hand-held controller, in which riders control speed modes, power, braking, etc.
Does it work as a regular skateboard?
Yes – Riders can use this board with both battery on or off. Feel free to start moving those legs once your juice runs dry, although avoid the urge to try any big tricks!
Build quality and ease of use
We were pleasantly surprised by the build quality of the WowGo 3. For starters, the bamboo & fibreglass deck showcases both strength and flexibility, supporting a ridiculous 16 times its own weight; effectively making it one of the strongest electric skateboards we’ve reviewed to date. The breaks are fairly responsive and the battery is extremely easy to replace, should you need to. This is already a big bonus on many models which integrate the battery permanently. Its remarkably light weight allows for effortless storage and transportation. Whilst spacious, the deck is still compact and avoids becoming cumbersome; also a plus for anyone taking public transport between rides.
The fast charge time makes this a great electric skateboard for commuters too, as you can easily charge to full from even half a shift. Terrific torque power allows riders to easily conquer hills of up to 25-30 degrees, which is better than most high-end eScooters. How smooth is the ride?
Provided riders stick to smooth surfaces & avoid any bumpy surfaces, you’ll have a nice ride without any compromise of control.

Switching our WowGo 3 review onto its most important section, safety & usability on the road. For starters, this model does at least incorporate some degree of lighting, including a rear LED headlight alongside the board. Whilst this is a good start, we still recommend riders pick up an additional headlight for maximum visibility. Reflective wheel strips are another great feature often overlooked by many competitors & proves a simple yet effective way of increasing visibility.
Whilst the breaks are suitably responsive, we don’t recommend riding head on into busy traffic at top speed; slow down slowly to avoid any loss of control. Structural suspension helps ensure a smooth ride, further avoiding any compromise in control from bumpy terrains. However, stick to smooth surfaces as much as you can. Whilst it’s clear this board was designed for roadside use, we recommend wearing adequate safety gear when riding; including reflective clothing, helmet, gloves, etc.
Is the WowGo 3 waterproof?

Does the WowGo 3 have lights?
Yes – This board comes with a rear LED light, allowing riders to stay seen by traffic behind them. Reflective wheels help riders stay seen, however we still recommend riders fit an additional headlight to their board for maximum visibility; especially when riding at night.
