Starting off, every EPIKGO product is manufactured with extremely rigorous standards and quality control throughout every step of the process. Whatever hoverboard you pick, a top quality product with a superior safety rating is guaranteed. Firstly, let’s introduce the Premier offroad hoverboard.

Two powerful 400W dual motors ensure that this ride is capable of dealing with slopes and inclines of up to 30 degrees; whilst also reaching speeds of up to 12 mp/h (according to the EPIKGO website). Not only is the Premier perfect for offroading, it’s also one of the fastest hoverboards on the market.

Further featuring a highly durable and suitably protected, UL 2271 certified 37V LG battery pack, resulting in a range of up to 12 miles (19.3 km) on a single charge. Even with this fairly impressive range and overall power the Premier, like the rest of the boards on this list, fully charges in just under 2 hours.

Not only this, but all boards listed boast a seriously strong maximum payload, with the Premier capable of handling weights of up to 240 lbs (110 kg). However, the Classic’s top speed is 10 mp/h with a 10 mile range.

Performance / Sports Hoverboards

Moving on to our performance hoverboards, the Sports and Sports Plus. Both of which feature rapid acceleration, power, speed and control; certainly contenders as one of the fastest hoverboards on the market. Easily capable of pushing 12 mp/h and boasting a 12 mile range, the Sport Plus offers great performance and control; whilst the Sports is still a high power board, its 10 mile range and 10 mp/h speed is outshone by the Plus.

However, both of these boards are some of the safest, being completely UL 2272 certified against fire and electrical dangers. Alongside this, all boards listed run on a UL 2271 certified LG Smart battery to further ensure safety and performance. As previously mentioned, all boards listed have undergone and passed over 150 additional safety tests, attesting to their credibility.

Potent power & serious safety

Much like the Classic & Premier, both Sport/Plus have also undergone and passed over 150 safety tests. Furthermore, both models boast powerful 400W motors, enabling them to climb 15 degrees (Sport) and 30 degrees (Plus). This helps enable it to climb slopes up to 30 degrees!

Whilst EPIKGO claims the Sports Plus & Premier nearly twice as powerful and 30% larger than leading competitors, we’re not too sure how true this “twice as powerful” claim is. However, it certainly is a lot larger than many competitors, helping to ensure a more comfortable and stable ride.

Both Sports models feature advanced 8.5″ alloy wheels, ensuring great grip and control on a number of terrains. Tackle a number of terrains such as grass, dirt and sand whilst burning rubber on stable sidewalk and asphalt. As previously mentioned, all models featured are IP56 waterproof rated, meaning that your fresh new ride is capable of handling a number of elements and weather conditions.

This also means that these boards offer ample protection against dust and small particles that would otherwise tamper circuitry. What age/weight is it suitable for?

All models offer a significant max. payload of approx. 240 lbs (110 kg), with a minimum weight of 44 lbs. For reference, the average weight for a 6 year old boy is 44 lbs, so your kids could probably ride.

However, the high power and lack of beginner mode/speed settings make these hoverboards most suited to experienced riders. As such, the official age recommendation (according to EPIKGO) for these boards is 13+.

All hoverboard models feature very similar battery lives, averaging around 1 hour of riding time at maximum speed. This is due to the correlation with max. speed and range; the higher spec Premier/Plus offering 12 mp/h for 12 miles whilst the Classic/Sports offers 10 mp/h with a 10 mile range.

Of course, battery life and performance is impacted by a number of variables, including rider weight, terrain, incline, etc. However, whilst this may not seem like a long time, it’s unlikely that you’ll be going top speed for so long.

Furthermore, whilst the battery life is relatively low (likely due to such high power), charging time for all of these boards are an incredible 1-2 hours. Not only are these some of the fastest hoverboards available, they’re also some of the fastest charging.

Battery protection & safety

Battery protection and electrical safety have been highly emphasised throughout the production process, with all boards attaining an IP56 waterproof rating. This protects the battery and circuitry from dust and other small particles, alongside high pressure water resistance. However, we don’t recommend submerging your hoverboard at any point.

All models listed run on a UL 2271 certified LG Smart Battery, whilst also meeting UL 2272 certifications overall. These certifications mean that these models meet and exceed rigorous fire and electrical safety standards.

Alongside this, EPIKGO have put these boards forward for over 150 additional safety tests, all of which were passed. Rest assured, these are some of the safest hoverboards available to date.

How long will the battery last for?

Approx. 1 hour at max. speed – However, variables such as rider weight, terrain, incline, etc. will have an impact on performance. With all models featuring an energy efficient LG smart battery, expect the Classic/Sport to run for 10 miles, with the Premier/Plus running for 12 miles. 1 year limited warranty is also offered for all official purchases, covering parts and labour from the manufacturer.

Overall, the build quality of all models are extremely high, all fashioned from strong & durable yet lightweight aluminium alloy frames. EPIKGO place extremely high standards and quality control throughout every step of the production process; further proved by running their models through over the 150 safety tests mentioned previously.

All of the models feature a fairly similar design, differing only in colour, wheels, speaker integration and a few more small tweaks. Both the Premier and Sports Plus also feature an additional built-in speaker with the capacity for wireless connectivity.

All models feature bright LED lights to help you both see and also stay seen on those darker days. Furthermore, all models claim to be over 30% larger than leading competitors and we easily see that these are certainly some beefy boards.

This dramatic increase in size results in more foot space, control and a much more stable ride. Although, this comes at at a fairly above average weight, weighing at 31.5 lbs (14.2 kg), which still isn’t very heavy to carry; if you’re having trouble lifting that, you should probably get down to the gym!

To conclude, both performance and offroad hoverboard models share very similar design and features outside of performance and wheel type; however they are all of extremely high build quality.

What material is it made from?

All models are crafted from a robust aluminium alloy frame. The Classic/Premier models feature thick, rubber/alloy offroad tires whilst the Sports/Plus feature 8.5″ rubber/alloy performance wheels. All models feature super bright LED lights.

Can it be used as a regular hoverboard?

All of these models require a charged battery to operate. Once you run out of charge, expect to be carrying your new walking partner home.

Does it connect to your smartphone via app or Bluetooth?

Yes – The EPIKGO Premier/Sports Plus models feature built-in, wireless Bluetooth speakers. The mobile app allows riders to track miles, manage steering sensitivity, track their board, monitor vehicle temperature and more. However, the EPIKGO app is only available on iOS.

Build quality and ease of use

Overall, EPIKGO hoverboards are of extremely high quality, undergoing rigorous safety tests; furthermore, EPIKGO place a high standard throughout the entire production process, ensuring a top quality product.

Again, all models pass over 150 additional safety tests and the materials used are of high standard. In terms of ease of use, the wide and large design make for a very comfortable ride with ample foot space. However, due to the lack of speed settings/power adjustment, these boards best suit experienced riders who already know what they’re doing.

Whilst this hoverboard seems appealing to the casual commuter, these boards are more suited towards experienced riders and hoverboard enthusiasts. This is down to a number of things mainly; lack of beginner mode, high power, high price range.

However, the Premier does come with a 1 year manufacturer warranty, covering parts and labour. So, if you’re serious about your boards, or are simply looking for the best offroad hoverboard, the Classic & Premier are well up there.

Are these hoverboards waterproof?

Yes – All models feature an IP56 waterproof rating, making them semi-submersible; however, we don’t recommend you try to test it out!

Many cost-effective commuters will wonder if there are any EPIKGO Black Friday & Cyber Monday deals this 2023. We’ve done some research and checked the price graphs for previous years to determine how likely this is… Plot twist: very likely!

EPIKGO have a history of offering a number of deals on Black Friday, Cyber Monday and also throughout the year. See below a few charts to learn the pricing history of the EPIKGO Classic & Sports hoverboards.

Previous EPIKGO Classic Black Friday & Cyber Monday Deals

As you can see from the chart, the Classic has had it’s fair share of ups and downs. Most notable discounts were in July/October 2017, with a price drop of $120. However, such dramatic discounts haven’t been since, with prices fluctuating throughout 2018-2019, before finally stabilising towards the end of 2023.

Furthermore, we can see clear discounts of upwards of $50 on the run up to Black Friday/Cyber Monday and Christmas. Whether or not this year will feature significant discounts akin to those in 2017 is a different story, however it is more than likely that we will see a reduction of some sorts.

Previous EPIKGO Sports Black Friday & Cyber Monday Deals

The pricing for the EPIKGO Sports is a lot more stable than that of the Classic. Furthermore, significant price drops were offered just before November 2017, similar to the previous price chart. However, prices have remained more or less the same after dropping from the initial mid-high mark to the mid region. Since the huge 2017 discounts, we only see 2 discounts of significance between that and Black Friday/Cyber Monday 2019, with over $150 off in the June/July region.

Lastly, we can see clear evidence of a Black Friday price drop in November 2019, with a discount of around just $30; with the most significant discount of over $50 occurring in December. Because of this, we deem it very likely that EPIKGO will follow suit and offer more Black Friday / Cyber Monday & Christmas discounts in 2023.
